Dr Al-Sharkawi embarked on establishing his own dental practice in 2003 and Gentle Dental Care was born. His vision was to create a relaxed, modern environment where patients feel comfortable and at ease. Adhering to all the regulations as set out by the GDC and CQC, patients can be assured they are receiving the best quality dentistry and care in a compliant environment.
Dr Al-Sharkawi is a firm believer in continued professional development and is often attending additional training in all aspects of dentistry. He feels it’s paramount to be able to offer a range of dental treatments to a high standard and not just be limited as a practitioner to the basics of general dentistry. In 2006, he completed the MDIS Implant Course which covered Patient selection, Clinical Protocols, Instrumentation and Surgical Placement of Implants. He has also completed numerous endodontic courses over the years and invested in state of the art endodontic equipment. This has enabling him to carry out, with his own personal skills involved, root canal treatments to an exceptionally high standard.
